| 420579 | 2006-01-12 22:49:00 | Quick question guys. I have Xtra Broadband (2mbps, 10 gb usage allowance) and was wondering if this speed internet will be fast enough for what i'm planning. My original plan was to create a wireless network with two computers connected to it wirelessly and an xbox connected to it with a wire. Will my internet speed be fast enough to accomplish this, bearing in mind that the pc's will be around 20 metres from the router and passing through a couple of walls. Thanks in advance |

I'd try to avoid anything in a tacky white plastic enclosure, made by companies who dont sound familiar. | 420585 | 2006-01-14 08:29:00 | If I am not mistaken, some D-link wireless routers employ the "channel bonding" technology, which might create unwanted interference towards other peripherals such as cellphones etc. However, having said that, the beauty of this technology is that you might get up to twice or thrice the normal speed (read this from PCWorld Magazine). | 420586 | 2006-01-15 02:31:00 | I've had a quick look on the internet and I've found these two models: c1com.co.nz c1com.co.nz I've checked on the XBox webiste and they are both compatible with Xbox Live so no problems there. So my question is are these routers any good or should they be avoided? What are the advantages and disadvantages of them? I wasn't really looking to spend much more tha about $110, but feel free to add any other suggestions. Thanks in advance |
