421414 2006-01-15 09:30:00 .............though it is not unknown for the battery holder to be broken through forcing the clip. It pays just to look carefully, slightly different styles of holder and methods of retention have been used. Terry Porritt (14)
421415 2006-01-15 09:37:00 depends on what type off battery is used. tweak'e (69)

421417 2006-01-15 10:33:00 According to my Dell user manual:

If you pry the battery out of its socket with a blunt object, be careful not to touch the system board with the object. Ensure that the object is inserted between the battery and the socket before you attempt to pry out the battery. Otherwise, you may damage the system board by prying off the socket or by breaking the circuit traces on the system board

Doesn't sound too easy for me after reading this advice. :yuck: :groan:

Cheers :)

421419 2006-01-15 16:38:00 Yes.

NO NO NO. It is not easy.
The retaining clips break very easily.
Then a new motherboard is needed.
