421213 2006-01-15 07:29:00 I had a neat application on my old computer called "Neo Trace Express", which traced, on a map of the world, IP addresses which were heading my way. It also had a text analysis of the IP address.
I never put it on my new computer as I thought it would be easy enough to pick up again; but it doesn't appear to exist anymore  .
Does anyone know what's happened with it? or can someone suggest an alternative?
Thanks.

421214 2006-01-15 07:56:00 McAfee bought them out I believe.

Many, many links on Google (NeoTrace, not Neo Trace) but they mostly seem to be dead.

Must be one live one somewhere, with 79,000 hits

421218 2007-02-15 05:24:00 Netguide (www.netguide.co.nz (Issue%20120))

Have a full version of Visual IP Trace 2005, which is similar, its in the latest Netguide.

It's not on the Netguide CD, since Netguide no longer supply CD's on the mag

A similar thing was on versions of NIS.

I used to report hackers when I used to use NIS, and got a few wannabe's banned from their ISP's in OZ when I emailed the logs.

NOTE: Click the top link on the Netguide site to get the registration, you have to put your email in to get it.

421219 2007-02-15 07:31:00 Is that registration location advice for Netguide or Visual IP Trace 2005, Speedy? I have downloaded the program and would like to register it. Please give more details. zqwerty (97)
421220 2007-02-15 07:37:00 Err well the site is Netguide. The program is IP Trace 2005.

Did u get the 2005 version not the 2006 version??

You have to go here (secure.visualware.com) to get the key for the 2005 version, which wont work with the 2006 version.

I should have said the 2005 download is here (www.netguide.co.nz)

Down the bottom u have to put in VIPT65D to get it.

421221 2007-02-15 07:40:00 Thanks, that was not clear from your post above this one. zqwerty (97)
421222 2007-02-15 20:53:00 I'd given up on this one:eek:
Phaedra, I downloaded from the site and installed NeoTrace, but it won't work on my machine, keeps wanting to send an error report:confused:
Thanks anyway.
Thanks for those links Speedy Gonzales. I installed Visual IP Trace and like you said it's very similar to what NeoTrace does anyway.
Good one:thumbs:
