| 421993 | 2006-01-17 09:23:00 | Greetings. This might seem pretty easy for most of you all, but I am a complete novice towards Outlook 2003. I have already added my Hotmail and my Gmail account to Outlook. How do I tell them to synchronise with their respective mail server without downloading all the attachments come along with each mail? I want something like in a webmail whereby the attachments are only downloaded and viewed when the e-mail that contains it is clicked. At the moment, Outlook seems to be trying to download >100MB of mail from Gmail. :waughh: :waughh: Cheers and thanks :) |

| 421994 | 2006-01-17 09:34:00 | You can't download the message without the attachment. You can elect to download headers only but that won't be much use to you. You had better stick with webmail. |

Can I disable downloading of attachments along with new messages in Outlook Express 6? How do I prevent the loading of Windows Messenger whenever I launch OE? Cheers :) |

| 421999 | 2006-01-20 08:05:00 | And the attachment part? Any advice? I don't think attachments can be detached from emails on the server, James . Eudora and I think Thunderbird separate the attachments into different folders but only after they have been downloaded, not before . As far as Gmail goes, they are very firmly married to each other so unless you can somehow separate them in Gmail itself I'm afraid you will be out of luck . |
