421861 2006-01-17 08:40:00 I'm looking at purchasing Alcohol 120 but $55 USD seems a tad expensive.

Does anyone know of any cheaper options that do the same job?, or anywhere you can get Alcohol 120 for a cheaper price?

421862 2006-01-17 09:07:00 If you don't take any notice of the date on your computer, install the trial version & just set your date back to when you installed it every now & then. You don't have to do anything even slightly illegal to get it for free. Greven (91)

421864 2006-01-17 09:45:00 Hey there. DAEMON (www.daemon-tools.cc) (free) will easily serve the purpose. I hope I have gave you the right URL.

Cheers :)

421869 2006-01-18 00:46:00 Not sure of the correct way to explain it, but according to Alcohol-soft's forums, Alcohol 120 is built off / uses the Daemon tool engine. In fact, at this stage, Daemon tools is a lot more up-to-date than Alcohol 120. I don't think Alcohol will be updated anymore until version 2, which I don't think is too far off.

I got Alchol 120 over christmas. They had 50% off :)

Daemon tools is free, but is only the cd drive emulation part. You will need something like isobuster to creat an iso/bin from a cd, so you can mount it on Daemon tools.

Alchol 120 has emulation, iso/image creation, and cd burning all in the one package. It is also very easy to use. I found it a lot easier to use than Nero for burning. I think I read somewhere that creating or emulating cd images is a 3 click process. I actually can't remember how many times I clicked when I did it, but it was dead simple.
