If plugged into the back of the pc, it all works fine though, and the sound recorder will move if I make a noise. I thought the fact that when sliding the plug into the front port, the sound made a small crackle, as it does when you plug speakers in, and also the sound recorder registered a small spike, that there is actually power going to it. |

So, when u speak nothing happens . Have u tried moving the pins around on the mobo front panel connector, to see which pins will make the mic work . I would do this, while the system is on (if the front panel mobo connector isnt too close to anything else) . And its not too hard to get to . It'll work fine in the back, coz its hardwired to the mobo . The front of the case isnt, until u connect the wires from the front to the right pins on the mobo connector . I'll get the manual (but didnt want to)! on 56k . It takes too long, and I couldnt be bothered waiting before :D So I can see where this connection is on the mobo . |

| 422082 | 2006-01-19 05:11:00 | I've got the manual now . So, you've put the front audio R on pins 5&6 and Audio L on pins 9&10 . What pins have u put the 2 mic wires on?? The mic wires should, I would say be on pins 1&3 . If the front mic connection says Mic_PWR I would say this goes on pin 3 . And then put the slider up under sound recording for the mic . Does front panel mic appear in sound recording under advanced under the mic? |
