421760 2006-01-16 21:27:00 Hi F1'ers

I would like to transfer some old vhs videos to dvd. To do this I presume I need a capturing device (card). The VHS player just has standard audio out/video out on back of it.

What video capter/tuner cards would you recommend to do this?

Thanks,
Nyuuji.

I use the leadtek deluxe/expert cards, as the program that comes with these, will also let u record from whatever is plugged into the video in port, on the tuner.

I think these have a 5 pin din plug (or 9 pin) one of them. All you have to do is get the adapter and an rca extension, to plug into video out on a VCR, and connect the audio out from the video to the line in on the soundcard to get the sound.

I have written a tutorial for this HERE (www.epirate.net)

421763 2006-01-16 23:49:00 I'm a big fan of Hauppauge.

They use hardware-based MPEG encoders; in English, it supports high quality streaming captures, up to 12Mb/sec.

It's also well supported for personal video recorders.

You might benefit from a VHS player that supports s-video out.
