2006-01-20 00:47:00 | Still got that 1800??? I wanted an Athlon XP CPU to fit a Socket A motherboard to upgrade from 1800+ to 3200+ and after the auction passed $300 I elected to get an ASUS K8V-MX plus a Sempron 754 3000+ for $268.88 including GST for a friend.

2006-01-20 00:56:00 | Heh, I tried and failed only a couple of weeks ago to do an upgrade for a client, I exhausted all my avenues of supply looking for a socket A cpu, even a supplier who in the past went to extreme lengths to find me gear only came up with the one option, That was to ask a client in Tonga (who had purchased all the stock) if they could have one back. This was for either a Sempron or Athlon. I then turned the client loose witha list of shops claiming to have them in stock, All were dead ends but 2 dodgy &^&*bags took his order and sent him Socket-754 cpu's instead. He now has a pretty swish AMD 3500, nforce4 rig, so alls well that ends well. I wouldn't sell my Socket A cpu because that would make the motherboard its in useless as well.....Hence the price would have to cover replacement of both, Yes its second hand gear. No its not worth the price. If your trying to resurect an older comp then you maybe forced to Buy a mobo and cpu from the current range. Just ask George....

2006-01-20 01:10:00 | Again, Cant do it, Its a working computer, if I sold the items I would not only have to shag around pulling it apart, rebuilding it and sorting out the OS but I would have to shell out for a new Mobo and cpu as well.... | Metla (12) | |

But did you not quote a 2600+ for $250? My mate shelled out as you put it under $300 FOR A 754 m/b PLUS 3000+ Sempron3000+64. |

2006-01-20 06:05:00 | lmfao, are XPs like gold dust now? wdf?, i honestly dont think 250 dollars is such a good deal. who the hell values discontinued XPs neway? i mean, you could buy a used 64 for 250 dollars. yeah, ok $100 for XPs, 2400+ or greater please. thanks all. yea, and name a reasonable price please :-) Well I wish you luck. A used 64 will not fit the motherboard will it? The value of an AMD 2400+ is what someone will pay for it. Market price and supply and demand etc.
