| 422366 | 2006-01-19 03:06:00 | LMAO :D Reminds me of when I had a similar problem a couple of years ago and blocked the unwanted site in the Hosts file. What happened? The little monkey came on to PF1 and asked why the site wasn't working anymore... and one of my "mates" gave instructions how to check the Hosts file and remove the site from there!! To be fair he didn't know who the poster was until it was too late but it taught me to be even more cunning to stay several steps ahead. :p :D That's why blocking through a firewall is a good idea because you can usually set an administration password on your firewall. |

Yep, that was one item in my bag of my cunning tricks. Never used it in the end though as a "quiet little chat" to the offender was the best solution. |

| 422368 | 2006-01-19 03:22:00 | Dummy question no. 2: Does the free edition of ZA enable blocking by url, or is that just the Security Suite? | Peterj116 (6762) | ||
| 422369 | 2006-01-19 03:25:00 | I wouldn't know as I got sick of ZA years ago for constantly transfering features to the payfor version. You could use this too. It's meant to speed things up but you can block too www.snapfiles.com www.snapfiles.com |

| 422372 | 2006-01-19 03:37:00 | I wouldn't know as I got sick of ZA years ago for constantly transfering features to the payfor version see what I mean? the free ver has NEVER had that feature, so i don't know how you could say they "transfered features". they just added features to the pro ver over the years, the free ver hasn't changed much at all. |

| 422373 | 2006-01-20 02:58:00 | Well that's because you glued two of my posts togeather and rogered the context. If you like to do that sort of thing then good for you. I never said it had that feature. I said I didn't know I also said I gave up on the programme years ago for it's transfering of features to the pay for version. I did not mention that feature. Back when ZA was new and cool the free version had loads of features and they started to dissapear one by one. How about sticking to commenting on what people have actually written. |

| 422374 | 2006-01-20 03:09:00 | commenting on what you have written...... from what i remember of the early vers ZA free didn't have lots of features, certianly none of the features ZA pro has today. they only main feature they removed was ICS support. so how could they 'transfer features' that it never had ? |

Ah we are being vague now. When I say a long time ago I am talking years, like around 2000. Features were removed and no I have not kept a list of them, as why would I keep track and a list of a long ago dumped programme. I moved to, what was then, tiny personal firewall which had no pay for version to push people towards and as such had no restricted features. from what i remember of the early vers ZA free didn't have lots of features Then your memory is faulty because I remember it had a lot. I remeber IP backtrace was an early loss. |
