| 1396746 | 2015-03-18 19:53:00 | This is a follow on from a previous thread. pressf1.pcworld.co.nz Owner has bought a new note book. I have removed the old hard drive & fitted it into a enclosure. www.trademe.co.nz Works good. Was able to retrieve all the pics & docs. But importing the mail contacts is not going too well. The Windows Live Mail/Contacts folder shows as empty. The contacts folder in the main user only has 3 entries. Should be 100 or more. Was able to get the list from an old desktop but its a couple of years out of date. |

Put the hd back into the original laptop. Export contacts to usb stick, then import onto new PC. or triplescomputers.com superuser.com www.woanware.co.uk :2cents: If they have Outlook on the new PC, use that , not Live mail. |

| 1396751 | 2015-03-18 21:51:00 | That's exactly what I am attempting, but as I said the folder shows as empty. Depending what version of Live mail the old one is, will also depend on its location slightly. BUT the actual Contacts .edb file is in a hidden system file so they need to be made visible in the Explorer Settings. From tools / Folder Options / View / untick " hide protected operating system files" - then they will be visible. Then using one of the .edb viewers 1101 linked you can see / save as a .csv file and import that. |
