1396554 2015-03-17 00:45:00 I have a Panasonic Smart TV through which I can watch Lightbox etc. using HDMI cable and my laptop.... my Galaxy tablet browser wont run Lightbox - not one of the models listed.... so I am considering buying an iPad mainly for the purpose of being able to watch the odd show when I am in bed, or curled up in a chair.... I don't travel to out of the way places so cannot see me needing that type of facility.... I see "cellular" mentioned in the ads but don't know what this does? Any suggestions which model I should look for please? TIA Bryden (4161)
1396555 2015-03-17 01:01:00 A cheap laptop might be better, I know nothing about iPads though. dugimodo (138)
1396556 2015-03-17 01:14:00 I just think the convenience of a tablet would suit better than a laptop with keyboard, less bulky..... Bryden (4161)
1396557 2015-03-17 01:48:00 ipad would only work if you also had an apple tv to wirelessly send the lightbox stream to the tv. I'm not sure if with the newer ipads that use the lightning connection (the short reversible one) if the lightning to HDMI cable exists or works (or you're allowed to use it - it's a permission the app builder can set).

As others have said, a laptop would be a better and more versatile solution.

1396558 2015-03-17 01:54:00 Before you go wasting money on a iPad, it would be better to find out why the Samsung Galaxy you already have is having problems. Install a different browser on it that is compatible.

According to lightbox's site it should work:

You have iPad Air or iPad Air 2 to choose from so that part is pretty easy. If you are only going to be using it at home then you don't need to both with a SIM card. If you do want o use a SIM card then get a pre pay one.

If you would prefer a bigger screen size then get a laptop.

1396560 2015-03-17 02:48:00 You use the light box app Wanui not a browser on a tablet. You can only find it in the app store if you have a supported device. I've managed to find the apk file and install it on my nexus 7 but I need to deregister one of my other devices before I can test it. I googled light box apk and found it easy enough but if anyone wants me to send it to them just PM me the details of where to send it. dugimodo (138)

1396562 2015-03-17 04:51:00 Why not just Apple TV to watch on your TV?

Watching in bed, that will cost more

1396563 2015-03-17 05:12:00 There's no native app. So need Apple tv + iPad for lightbox. psycik (12851)
