1385184 2014-09-30 17:47:00 I live in an area which is mostly Polynesian and Māori, but the local takeaway is run by a Chinese couple. I frequent the takeaway quite often. The cook is wonderful. I'd like to give her a small "thank you" token or gift without offending her husband, who also, on the one occasion I met him, seems to be a really nice guy.

So... what can I give her, or them, to say thank you for the wonderful greasy food I enjoy so much? (nothing expensive of course!)

Any ideas?

1385185 2014-09-30 18:25:00 How about feedback online about their shop? That would do the most good. I did that to one chinese shop I go to, they didn't have any feedback, now they do. pctek (84)

1385187 2014-09-30 20:30:00 If you patronise her take away once a week, now increase it to 3 times a week. She and her husband will be very happy!

Watch out your weight, though.

Watch out your weight, though.Haha. Too late, I'm already overweight - the very few exercise things I do is to walk to the takeaway 3 or 4 times a week.

Hmm, makes me hungry just to think about their chips. *sigh*

That's a rather expensive way to eat you know.

It's not hard to cook those kind of meals yourself......

1385191 2014-10-01 04:01:00 Just add in plenty of oil (preferably pork lard) and of course lots of MSG. Your home-cooked food will be as nice and tasty as theirs, if not better. bk T (215)

You're not meant to cook in it....it gets added - a wee bit - for the flavour. Which is super strong.......
Anyway, has anyone watched the takeaway people cook? They don't make stirfry with lard....
