Nearly every PC I've looked at that's infected has Chrome on it Yup just make sure whatever you download if it's got a custom install USE IT. And avoid Cnet, Filehippo and download.com. All 3 will gives you malware, if you're not careful |

A good reason for replacing Adobe Reader with something better and lighter that doesn't inveigle Chrome onto your system. Disclosure:- I fought Chrome off for a good while for the same reason as Speedy but now use it as my default browser. It doesn't crash like IE periodically did but the final straw was that it allowed one to create folders in google drive when IE wouldn't. (IE does seem to work with the folder create now but it is too late!!). Guess when Win 10 Preview next updates I will have to try Spartan. Not that I am getting too excited about that, though. |

| 1396294 | 2015-03-14 23:40:00 | A comment in the original poster's article says: "There is only one on demand scanner that literally finds all pups , it is Eset online scanner with (pups detection enabled). (snip) Want proof , run Eset's online scanner and YOU MUST check the box for the pups detection, you will be shocked how many pups are on your computer without you even having a clue." I use ESET Smart Security v8+, and cannot find a pups detection checkbox - could someone please direct me to the correct place? Or do I need to use their online scanner? Thanks in advance. Reason for editing - user stupidity in not noticing "online scanner" when reading the article... |
