| 1396894 | 2015-03-21 21:24:00 | I'm wanting to buy a blueray player. I have the Sony S5200 for $197 in mind. Does anyone have any recommendations? | Bryan (147) | ||

Has bluetooth and you can play from a USB flash drive Has 5 speakers, and it's 1000W. And it's wireless / has wifi built in Dont know if the player you want has speakers. But I cant see anything about it having speakers on the Sony site Altho I dont think the E2100 has mirroring |

Are you going to plug it into a Amplifier for surround/stereo ? If so , make sure the Bluray outputs are compatible with any amplifier you want to use. |

And as above, the Samsung blueray player also has the same browser? What about Chrome cast? Or a Samsung USB dongle assuming such a thing exists? Are these things any different or better than a wireless or HDMI connection from a laptop/tablet to the TV? Indeed how do we connect wirelessly to a TV which doesn't have wifi? A few days ago after some fumbling and playing about with settings, managed to connect the lappie via HDMI and watch the NZ v WI game. Awful picture but good enough to enjoy. So I can see possibilities. |

I have an Apple TV gen 2, which serves my purpose for streaming movies to the TV over WiFi but I would go with android TV if I was to pick one. I still got a boxed Chromecast that I am yet to try out, but again, my usage is for streaming but in this case, I want to delve deeper into the source of it. I guess if a web browser is provided (free) then I would make more use of it and would use a Bluetooth keyboard as remote would be slow, unless you got an android TV, which on the back of their remote is a keyboard. There are still lots of apps provided that allows you to watch videos from lots of locations, including YouTube and Netflix, etc. I usually connect my laptop up though to watch live streams, but a TV with a web browser would fit the bill. Cheers, KK |
