This should be interesting.
Apple now "reportedly" is unable to un-encrypt your data even if they are given a warrant, hmm.

1384211 2014-09-18 18:57:00 That is big indeed, how long before you need an external HD on your phone? ;) R2x1 (4628)
1384212 2014-09-19 00:13:00 Meh some kid will probably break it a week after release.
As for a HDD on the phone - never . Micro SD's are tiny and are currently available commonly at 128GB size with 256GB starting to show up.
all they need to do now is speed them up a bit.

1384213 2014-09-19 01:24:00 That just means the police will resort to tougher measures to get your passcode out of you... meanwhile Apple can wash its hands clean of the whole mess by being unable to do anything to help.

Win for Apple, lose for the consumer, as usual.

1384214 2014-09-19 07:39:00 It is apparently not that simple to crack the code. It is using the same algorithm that was used to find an address in Apple Maps, and the teams trying to crack that are still lost. ;) R2x1 (4628)

What a crock of ****, "lose for the consumer"

How the hell is better encryption a loss for the consumer?
It means your data is more secure and if you do have something incriminating on it for whatever reason they can't get it unless you are stupid enough to provide the password.

Remember that a significant portion of the userbase are fools, who want completely secure encryption, BUT it will all be Apple's (or some other corporates) fault if they forget their passcode and lose all their stuff.
