| 423144 | 2006-01-22 05:40:00 | Hi there, I recently bought an AMD Semperon 3100+. In the PC World Magazine November 2004, it stated that the Semperon 2800+ had a speed of 2GHz. But my 3100+ only rates at 1.8GHz. Why is this? Thanx |

| 423147 | 2006-01-22 07:50:00 | The Socket A Sempron 2800+ runs at 2GHz but the Socket 754 runs at 1.6GHz. | CYaBro (73) | ||

| 423149 | 2006-01-22 08:29:00 | Because its no longer just about speed. Its about performance. So a lower mhz rating gives far more performance now with your Socket 754 than than the old one. Which is why its called a 3100+ - thats its performance compared with Intel. Although even Intel are going away from naming them after the mhz rating now so that will probably add to the confusion. |
