422992 2006-01-21 03:43:00 When I am playing games I will hear the hardware disconnect sound, the mouse lights will turn off, and the mouse is inoperable. 5-10 seconds later I will hear the hardware connect sound and the mouse lights will turn back on and it becomes operable again. Sometimes this will happen outside the game, but majority of the time its while I am gaming. Its becoming more and more frustrating every time it happens and I would appreciate any help.

Yes, I have tried reinstalling all the software/firmware. I have updated the drivers, I have tried multiple USB connections. I even reformatted my computer and it still happens.

422993 2006-01-21 03:57:00 If you're using windows XP go to device manager / select the USB hub root hub entries / power management tab.

Untick it here (allow the computer to turn off this device, to save power).

This may help.

422994 2006-01-21 05:45:00 I just tried that and it happened again. It's only happened once since then, so it may be fixed, it may not have.

Any other suggestions tho?

422995 2006-01-21 05:56:00 I had a microsoft optical mouse that did that. The mouse was screwed. Perhaps this is a hint. Buy a new one or take it back under warrenty. DangerousDave (697)
