423463 2006-01-23 05:12:00 Sorry im relatively new to building PCs, now you've lost me... :badpc:
How would I find that out? Would it be listed in BIOS at bootup, or somewhere else? I cant remember seeing it anywhere.

423464 2006-01-23 05:16:00 Go into the BIOS setup. (Often the DEL or one of the F keys gets you into that.) Then just browse ... I don't know what it would be called, but you'll know it if you see it.

That's a really old thing ... it was put in because most viruses were "boot sector" ones, propagated on floppies. Leave an infected floppy in the drive, and it would put itself on the boot sector of any disks it found when the computer was next started.

423465 2006-01-23 05:29:00 Right with you, i heard something about more BIOS options before, but never checked it out, ill look into that when i get back from work, thanks. You might be on to something...it has to be something in BIOS surely, to stop FDISK from working. Wishbone (7245)
