thnx jester for the advice. my mobo is an albatron kx600s pro. im gonna try lowering the clock speed to 333. a friend of mine recommended setting my CAS at 2. the sticker on the ram module says its 2.5. be posting soon. |

sounds about right, ddr400 ram runnign at ddr333 settings woudl provide more headroom and allow you to use tighter timings. |

yay!!hooray!!! :) i lowered the memory speed to 333 and now my comp runs perfectly. i was playing bf2 for 2 hours without any crashes. any ideas why my mobo doesnt like ddr400?wats the performance difference(%) between 333 and 400 btw? |

Glad it worked for ya mate.
I haven't noticed any speed reduction or performance hit, but I guess upping the RAM outweighs the relatively minor mem speed reduction. |

In your case there's an infinite speed improvement from running the memory slower. :cool: |
