| 423153 | 2006-01-22 09:15:00 | hey team the other day when i logged into msn , it advised of a new version, i was using 7.5 so thought perhaps its 7.6 or similar, so i let the upgrade do its thing and then msn restarted. was trying to type in my msn addy and it seemed to be hanging, so checked task manager and noticed the msn installer was still running although before the restart it said the install was completed. i stopped the installer in task manager but msn still refused to respond. i uninstalled msn and downloaded the latest version of msn messenger and tried to install that way and same thing, the installer is running in the background even after install. if i do a reboot and try to run msn.. it seems to go thru the install process again. before the upgrade it was running fine! please help! Term X run win xp pro with sp2, fully up to date with the updates from windowsupdate.com also up to date with avg virus definitions and run sygate personal firewall.. everything seems to run fine except msn now. |

I googled your problem and i found this, translate.google.com 6hs%3DCcv%26lr%3D%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26sa%3DG it was translated from spanish or portugese so it may be a little bit faulty and it mentions 6.2 being the lasted which im pretty sure is wrong. It may be bs but that may be the problem, i suggest you stick with 7.5 and run some anti spyware and virus programs. Hope it helps. |

| 423157 | 2006-01-22 10:57:00 | exactly the same thing again :-( when the install was completed, and msn restarted , i checked task manager and the msn installer was still a live process. waited a little while to see if it would disappear and nopes. and like as before i couldnt type in my email addy cos msn would hang immediately and i would have to kill the msn installer and msn process. |

| 423160 | 2006-01-23 07:19:00 | Hey JamesKan i didnt install msn plus, all i did was when i logged into msn, a message popped up to say that a new version is available and so went ahead with the install and havent been able to install it properly since.. just hangs and hangs. |
