424125 2006-01-25 06:40:00 Howdy,
I'm looking at doing a computer course via distance learning as I'm working at the same time, but want to "upgrade" my computer knowledge to help me get further in employment, and if its a course that can help me with my current job then they will help me with it, but its up 2 me to find the course/providers.
I've just finished Level 3 of Business Adminstration and Computing. I dont know what I can do next that could help me alot, but my current job has me sometimes updating website, but very basic updates like changing pictures, adding extra text, and I've seen others do work with 3D design, I think using CAD, will find out for sure tommorrow. BUt yeah, I want to do something that would get me further in either the Web Design Industry (i know its kind of hard as methods of making websites change as time goes on) or in the 3d Design industry. I also have a massive Interest in 3D designing/Multimedia stuff so that side of things would be a preference to me :)

I am working, so obviously a full time at tech course isnt possible. Is there any Providers that let us do the course part time over distance learning programmes?
I've looked at pei.ac.nz and learningpost.co.nz and openpolytechnic.ac.nz and the OPT does a webdesign one but you have to do some other course to go with it, its called Writing for the Web...link to the course page showing both Design and Writing is www.openpolytechnic.ac.nz

I'm going to go search some more Providers, might even try some actual polytechnics like UCOL/Wintec etc...but would love some advice/links from you guys :)

I look forward to your reply

Chris

424126 2006-01-25 06:46:00 Have you checked out http://www.computerpower.ac.nz/ yet? I am not sure if this link is relevant to your case, though.

Cheers :)

424127 2006-01-25 07:02:00 Go for a specialised web design course - That will go in depth in both programming and design areas, so it will be of more use to you than taking a web design paper from a more generic course. Greven (91)

that sounds like a way better idea, do you know where I can find distance learning programs? or is it more recommended to do it tech based?
And will give Computer Power website a look :)
