423891 2006-01-24 21:51:00 I don't know about 8, but got some might interesting info on the new 7.0...still gonna let this one shake itself out. I got some info on a pre-release hack that hit the net, but not the spyware one...and I imagine Mr. Bill is hopping mad at this enough to pull some strings here:

The latest beta of Internet Explorer 7 has leaked onto the Net, revealing publicly some of the features Microsoft has been promising.

Explorer developers have also recently detailed changes to a central feature of many prominent Web-based apps, while developers at rival Firefox have previewed some of the features in version 2.0 of the open-source browser, due this summer.

Explorer 7 is expected in the next two months. Beta 2 build 5299 was released as a .rar file by Windows enthusiast site JCXP.net on Friday, and was apparently downloaded by tens of thousands of users before the link was removed at Microsoft's request.

The site also published a number of screenshots of the build, displaying features such as tabbed browsing. Tabs, like many of the other features coming in Explorer 7, have been supported in competing browsers for months, if not years.

JCXP.net supplied a patch allowing the build to be installed on pirate copies of Windows XP, and as of Tuesday afternoon said it had been downloaded more than 18,000 times.

The stuff about it being spyware might just be spoilers and smoke screens to stop the downloads b4 it's time.

423893 2006-01-25 08:00:00 I'm part of the beta, however only coz i like playing round with new software. Frankly Microsoft can either pay me or get some other lonely fools to do there beta testing for them.

Anyway i found this BETA to be so horribly buggy that really you should only use it if you are a lonely fool doing Microsofts work for them. (Or of course if they are paying you :) )

And if you do try it out, be prepared to be signed out constantly and recieve only around half of your contacts messages.

I have been online for the past 5 hours. It never signed me out.All my contacts are displayed.

No problems with using beta.Completely perfect so far. They changed the msn icon from cyan to dark green which is a bit eww.

Well Nothing new with this beta.Everythings practically the same.Just that the Interface is neater
