423791 2006-01-24 01:39:00 Is it possible to do screen shots of videos in Windows Media Player??

Thanks :)

423792 2006-01-24 01:46:00 Do you just want to screenshoot the visual enhancements or some part of a video that you are playing?

Either way it works..I have found that using ALT+PRINTSCR is the correct button push.

I do know, however, that there's also a neat screen capture tool in Power DVD.

423793 2006-01-24 02:30:00 Yep, and Windows Movie Maker (free d'load from M/soft) also has a good 'save as photo' option. Shortcircuit (1666)

Nope, not working. Windows Movie Maker can't open up my .avi video file. I think Stu just wants to capture a screenshot of a video that is playing in his WMP. If I am not mistaken, you need some software to do that. The ordinary Printscreen key would not work, it seems.

Cheers :)

423795 2006-01-24 10:59:00 Turn off Video Acceleration in the media player options, then prtsrn works as expected. Metla (12)

423797 2006-01-24 20:40:00 Another PRNTSCR utility (free too)

423798 2006-01-25 00:03:00 Joe, I can't seem to use that software either to printscreen videos . All I get in the preview screen of the utility is the WMP layout and a black, blank hole in it . :annoyed:

Cheers :)

423799 2006-01-25 00:56:00 Hmmm...that's kinda strange...

I still find that in the case of my system, I have to press ALT+PRNTSCR to get a shot, and then send it to something like WordPad. It pastes there just fine, but if I don't use the ALT+PRNTSCR, I get the same results as you...a frame and no pictures in it.

Try it this way and report back..I am interested now.....

423800 2006-01-25 03:36:00 This is the result if I printscreen a video using both the conventional way - press printscreen, paste picture at mspaint etc. - and capturing the screenshot using that cat software. Pressing Alt + Printscreen gives me the same result as well (i.e. only the running Window's screenshot) - link (www.imagef1.net.nz)

Cheers :)
