423659 2006-01-23 05:54:00 Hey guys I was just wondering whther there would be a noticeable drop of speed if we change from a wired connection to a wireless connection. The computer and laptop would be around 15-20 metres apart, and the signal would have to pass through about 4 walls and a couple of closed doors. We have a 2mbps internet connection and i was planning to use a D-Link Router.

Thanks in advance

You dont usually notice any reduction in WAN speed unless the signal gets really low but you will get a huge reduction in LAN speed so if you have two computers shared then copying files from to the other will slow very much.
