| 424207 | 2006-01-25 21:38:00 | For some strange reason my audio device has suddenly stopped working. The weird thing is a) I can't remember doing anything to it b) It still plays sound c) (not so weird) the keyboard controls don't go Also under "sounds and audio devices" (winxp pro sp2) it says "No audio device" Any ideas? |

| 424208 | 2006-01-25 22:19:00 | I'm guessing the sound you're hearing is the internal beeps. Is the sound chipset integrated into the motherboard? Ac97 is very popular. In other words, does the sound cables hook up near the PC's rear connectors, or into a PCI board? You may want to check BIOS, usually by pressing the "Del" or "Esc" keys while booting, and make sure on-board sound is still enabled if appropriate. |
