| 423854 | 2006-01-24 08:26:00 | Just wondering if anyone could recommend some free anti-virus and anti-spyware that you can download. preferably not too large a download, and doesn't use up to much processing power. I used to have AVG (off the microsoft website) and a beta of Microsift Antispyware. Can you still get these or is there something better at the moment. Thanks in advance |

But a combination of programs like HijackThis (www.softpedia.com), Spybot Search And Destroy (www.softpedia.com), Lavasoft's AdAware (www.softpedia.com) and Ewido Security Suite (www.softpedia.com) should do the trick. |

I personally find Avaast is abit more in your face than AVG. AVG just sits very quietly in the background doing its job. But both programs are very good and I would recommend either. |
