"I do want to clear up one misconception [about removing Windows Messenger.] In none of the cases below is Messenger actually 'removed' from the system. You can hide it, prevent it from starting, disguise it, and fool the system into thinking it's not available - but it isn't removed. | 424544 | 2006-01-27 03:35:00 | I had debated for a while whether I would or wouldn't remove Windows Messenger . I finally did it after the goading in these last two or three posts . Well . . . . . . let me tell youse guys something! It cured my MSN Messenger problem that caused me to have to reload messenger every time I wanted to use it . I have a stable and reliable MSN Messenger now . . . thanks . (ps . . . I know not many of you like MSN messenger either, but I use it when I want to have some nice stationary that Gmail does not offer . . . yet!) |

I believe the uninstall in the script doesn't actually remove the files, merely hides it . The registry entry, I believe, only tells Outlook Express not to load it, again, not remove it .
