424425 2006-01-26 20:19:00 When I recieve mail in O/E all I get is ...
No virus found in this incoming message.
Checked by AVG Free Edition.
Version: 7.1.375 / Virus Database: 267.14.23/242 - Release Date: 26/01/2006
The message has departed,to where I know not?

424426 2006-01-26 22:21:00 At least the email doesn't contain a virus....

Does this happen to all of them or just one or two?

Maybe the sender used a white font? Use CTRL+A to see if this is the case.

Could the email just have had an attachment and no message?

Perhaps the message was a virus and AVG stripped it out to protect you?

424428 2006-01-26 23:23:00 Strange...

Create a new folder in Outlook Express and move all emails from your Inbox to that new folder. Now do a search on your hard drive for Inbox.dbx and delete it. See if you can then receive emails properly.

424430 2006-01-27 03:28:00 No that didn't fix it,but immobilizing email scanner in AVG seems to have done it. Cicero (40)
424431 2006-01-27 03:32:00 Ah . . . AVG and email problems again, huh?

Glad to hear that you fixed it anyway .

Oh, and did you recover the wandering contents of your other emails after disabling AVG?

424433 2006-01-27 03:57:00 Got a wee tip for you Cic, for moments like these. ;)

Go into Outlook Express > Tools > Accounts > click on your email account > Properties > Advanced and put a tick in "Leave a copy of messages on server" and "Remove from server". Change the number of days to 2 or whatever you fancy then click OK.

Next time your emails go a-wandering you then have the option of going into your ISP's account Webmail online using your browser and reading them from there. You can also forward your emails on to yourself in order to download them into OE.
