| 424313 | 2006-01-26 05:16:00 | Okay, If you've read my first post, just to complicate things a bit more: My family are coming over here on holiday from the UK in three weeks- is it a better deal to buy one there and have them bring it over here? e.g. are they cheaper over there and of better spec? I figure the warranty (albeit a global one) would be a bit riskier should things go wrong, but has anyone done that over here? Once again, thanks for your time! |

| 424316 | 2006-01-26 07:42:00 | Im living here (UK) now and reckon you can get more bang for buck from NZ. I got a HP 1.6 Centrino, 512megs, 60 gigs, wifi, bluetooth, dvd burner, xp pro and free ipaq from nz before I came here. It would cost roughly 1000 pounds to get the equivalent machine here at the moment which is about 2600 NZ dollars plus the ipaq which is about 170 pounds. Considering I bought my machine in March before I left I would say NZ is the place to buy. Now bringing some broadband back for is what you really want. Im currently cruising at an altitude (download speed) of 8 Megs with no cap. Beats my old crappy telescam (com) 256k broadband????? by about 10 million miles. Anyway hope this helps. B. |
