424904 2006-01-28 02:33:00 That might be it, kiwigirl. You are on Slingshot.

Isn't technolology wonderful? :groan:

I have an email address at nzoomail, which was sold to iconz. It hasn't received anything since December 19 (it seems it just rejects all incoming stuff). It hasn't sent anything (though it says it has sent things). Iconz said they had found what was wrong on January 16. They said theyu had fixed it after another day or so. On Jan23 they discovered they still don't know what is wrong. I was using that address on trademe. Very helpful.

To remove the temporary Internet files: Tools menu, select Internet Options.

424905 2006-01-28 02:34:00 I have had this problem for a few months, thought it might be the zone alarm firewall but still can't get trademe even if I turn the firewall off. kiwigirl (9540)
424906 2006-01-28 02:36:00 Had already deleted the temporary files but now that I know trademe are having a problem at the moment I suppose I will have to wait till they rectify it until I can try again. And I thought computers were supposed to make life easier hahaha! kiwigirl (9540)
424907 2006-01-28 02:38:00 Come to think of it Ex Westy could you try posting a "question" to me on Trademe. I'm "queny" there too. Ive got auctions running for 2 MP3 CD Players a Gigabyte 939 ultra NForce 3MoBo, 9800 Pro, some chairs and a painting. Any one of them will be fine. Maybe mention I've told you I can't log in and asked you to test?

By the way although I'm male and not blond I'm located in ChCh.

424909 2006-01-28 02:49:00 No new bids on any of your auctions, only two met reserve to date EX-WESTY (221)
424910 2006-01-28 02:59:00 I've just got back in(3.53 p.m)!

I managed that just after I used "Tools" "Options" in Firefox and clicked on the "clear all information stored while browsing " clear all " button. Internet Explorer will have something similar I imagine. Otherwise maybe install Firefox. Good tip thanks Grahan L.

Cheers too Ex-Westy for checking my auctions- and thanks also for that test question on the Gigabyte auction. Hasnt turned up on my e-mail but I see it on My Trademe" Happy trading everybody!

424911 2006-01-28 04:07:00 http://202.21.128.2/

this is the IP address for trademe, which lives on a dedicated server.

Going direct to the IP bypasses DNS servers etc whose function are to turn the user friendly name of tradme.co.nz into the IP addy of the server actually hosting the site. Seeing you are having "DNS errors" it seems logical to bypass the DNS system.

Try http://202.21.128.2/ it might just work for you.

If you have trademe set to automaticly log you in, you will find that this instruction has been ignored, this is because the cookies stored your side of the transaction are for trademe, not 202....... but once you log in again, all will be as per normal.

424912 2006-01-28 04:07:00 Well guys, I thought if I can't fix it then I will try and find a way around it! Anyway I have downloaded Firefox and using that I can get into Trademe, although I am still having problems (like I was just before not being able to access Trademe using IE) with having to push "go" a few times or getting the message "The Connection was reset while the page was loading". Other than that I am now in and can trade my heart away. Thanks for all your suggestions, hope you all have a great weekend (long - for all you fellow aucklanders!). kiwigirl (9540)
424913 2006-01-28 04:10:00 Personthingy! You are magic! You must have been posting while I was and I only just saw your solution, great stuff, it works just fine! Still don't know why it doesn't work the normal way, at least now I can keep using IE which I don't have any problems with (except for this one!).

Edited to say: THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
