424894 2006-01-28 02:07:00 Clear all cached entries. That's worth a try, anyway.

You are spelling it correctly? You have typed it in carefully? It's possible to have autocomplete give you a wrong item automatically. :(

424895 2006-01-28 02:09:00 Sorry to sound so dumb but how do I clear cached entries? (I have tried deleting cookies and temporary files etc) Am definitely spelling it right. kiwigirl (9540)
424896 2006-01-28 02:17:00 I rang Trademe . Its an 0900 number and calls cost $1 . 99 a minute . "Make sure if you are calling you are authorised by the person who will pay for the call . "

The number is 0900 87 233

After a couple of minutes where I explained why I was pretty sure they did have a fault, the operator admitted they "were having quite a few problems at the moment" but "thought they were limited to slingshot customers" . I told her I'm with actrix . I told here about this thread on this form and suggested Trademe should advise customers they are down without customers having to track them down then pay for that info .

She said they will do that "when they know what the problem is . "

Anyway I hope this saves you $1 . 99 or so!

424898 2006-01-28 02:26:00 Thanks for that, I have actually been having this problem for a few months. We would just like to use trademe now for business reasons so that is why I am pursuing an answer to my problem.

The pc guy I got to come in originally came about a totally different problem where everytime I went to go to fatso.co.nz my firewall would come up with a message that I was being attacked by some sort of trojan or something. It took him a while because he was scanning for viruses etc, we thought it easier to just shut down Norton firewall (when we found that was the problem) rather than try to contact them as it is quite a rigmorole to get in touch with them, plus it would have cost more money.

Anyway queny, I hope trademe comes back online for you sooner rather than later!

424900 2006-01-28 02:30:00 Another thing is that I can open oldfriends.co.nz ok but still can't even access trademe through the link on the oldfriends site.

Can anyone tell me how to clear cached entries?

By the way, thanks everyone for all your help with this.

424901 2006-01-28 02:31:00 That might be it, kiwigirl. You are on Slingshot.

Isn't technology wonderful? It's so reliable. :groan:

I have an email address at nzoomail, which was sold to iconz. It hasn't received anything since December 19 (it seems it just rejects all incoming stuff). It hasn't sent anything (though it says it has sent things). Iconz said they had found what was wrong on January 16. They said theyu had fixed it after another day or so. On Jan23 they discovered they still don't know what is wrong. I was using that address on trademe. Very helpful.

424902 2006-01-28 02:31:00 No worries kiwigirl. I have 7 auctions runiing at the moment so I had to find out somehow for that business reason of my own. I just hope the Q & A and other e-mail functions are working for me-I imagine they are. The first of my auctions close tomorrow so fingers crossed I should be OK. queny (9704)
