424420 2006-01-26 09:26:00 Hi, When checking for updates in Windows Update, I get the following message....Files required to use Windows Update are no longer registered or installed on your computer.....
I then click the button that says get or reinstall necessary files, it says it is downloading and registering files, but I get the same message when I look for updates again.
Any clues?
Thanks,
Graham.

Reboot the computer.

Try the Windows Update site again.

424422 2006-01-26 10:12:00 Thanks Speedy, that worked and there were some new updates waiting, so many thanks for your help.
I'm constantly amazed at the range of "glitches" out there, and even more amazed that people know the fixes!!
Graham.

424424 2006-01-27 01:13:00 Thanks for the link speedy - I followed a trail of links and resolved my Windows Update issue from this post (www.pressf1.co.nz) from December.

Cheers!
