2006-01-28 21:33:00 | I'm having some problems with my videos, so I'm gonna get rid of codecs that I don't need. I accidentally downloaded a messed up codec and I thought I got rid of it, but it messed up my videos perminently. I've been working on a movie in Windows Movie Maker but now that's on halt because of this problem. Here's the codecs listed in my video codecs properties. Cinepak Codec by Radius Inc. DivX 6.1 Codec iyuv_32.dll Microsoft RLE Codec Microsoft Video 1 msh261.drv msh263.drv msyuv.dll tsbyuv.dll Which ones can I get rid of to see if that fixes my problem?

2006-01-28 23:00:00 | Can someone help me? I'm almost done with my video, but this problem has made it stop completely until I get it fixed. All I need to know is which of those codecs are bad, or which ones can I get rid of. I don't want to get rid of one I need. Thanks.

2006-01-28 23:17:00 | to many codecs usually winds up breaking something. personally i just use vlc player, it has its own codecs / filters in it and plays almost everything ive tried it with.

2006-01-28 23:27:00 | I still have the problem of the videos not working correctly on Windows Movie Maker. Getting a new player wouldn't fix that. | Haiyaaa (9708) | |

2006-01-29 06:17:00 | What codec did you install? And what options if any did you set when you installed the codec? | bob_doe_nz (92) | |
2006-01-29 09:45:00 | It shouldn't really matter how many codec's you have installed, movie maker well pick the right one. If you haven't got the right one it should till you and ask you to install it. So I don't think having to many codecs is your problem. Trevor :)

2006-01-29 09:53:00 | too many codecs is not really a problem, haveing buggy ones installed is. a lot of codec packs have quite a few buggy codecs which are known to cause problems. | tweak'e (69) | |
2006-01-29 19:12:00 | I don't know of any options I set for the codec I downloaded. Someone posted it and said it would make the video he posted work for me, but it didn't, and it made some of my other videos worse, so I uninstalled it. After I uninstalled it, I didn't have any other problems with my videos until I started working with my Windows Movie Maker again. That was all buggy afterwards and I don't know what to do. Also, some of my videos are upside down when I try to view them. Something's going wrong in my computer and I don't know what.
