I am a third of the way to my goal.
In order to get Windows to recognise my replacement drive I created a 50/50 partition in it with Partition Magic. Success!!.
To make a copy of my old existing drive and transfer this to the new one I tried Acronis True Image 9. I came unstuck when during the 1st reboot (changing partitions) a windows protection fault occurred. I am now going to try backing up my OS partition with Nero backup and then reinstall this into my new replacement drive. Failing that I will try MaxBlast 4.
With older O.S. nothing ever seems to be straight forward

425034 2006-01-31 02:07:00 ... and with newer OSs is everything straightforward? :badpc: Graham L (2)
425035 2006-02-01 18:21:00 My replacement drive is now up and running with all of my old files transferred. For the transfer I used MaxBlast 4. It was slow (about 3 hours) but it did the job. Nero backup somehow would not transferr ALL files.

Thanks guys
