| 425512 | 2006-01-30 19:29:00 | i was just about to burn a film onto a DVD-RW to watch on my DVD player but in the burn setting of NERO burning ROM there is an option of "Finalize disc", which cannot be unchecked. Doesn't this defeat the whole object of a DVD-RW? Is there any way of turning it off or do i have to finalize the disc in order to watch it?? thanks for any help |

| 425513 | 2006-01-30 19:33:00 | Hello and welcome to PressF1 :) No the finalize only means closing the disc so the dvd player can play it, so yes you do have to finalize and it does not defeat the purpose of an RW because you just erase an RW in the menu somewhere, I can't remeber where though. | 425516 | 2006-01-30 23:18:00 | If you're trying to burn a film / video, use Nerovision / Nerovision Express. The only thing with this, is, some options need a serial / or a plugin to work (for the DVD option u need a plugin). It sounds like you havent selected the DVD option. (ie: E:Name of burner (DVD). In Nero Express. Its on the CD option. Which is why it says that error/message you're seeing. It's trying to burn a dvd, on the cd option. (ie: E:/Name of burner CD-R/W). |

Another thing you might find that after you have burnt your DVD is that you have no sound, if you are useing the free Nero Burning Rom. If that is the case you well have to purchase Nero Burning Rom to activate the codec which from memory is the Dolby Digital 3 codec. It is activated apoun entering the registration code. Trevor :) |
