| 425408 | 2006-01-30 05:19:00 | I will have about $2200, maybe $2400 by the end of next month, and am planning to spend it all on a new computer. It will require no operating system, printer or scanner. I won't be building it, so the next best thing looks like a custom-made computer. What's the best 'pc builder' available from a NZ store? From eoneonline.co.nz , i've been able to get an Athlon64 4000+, 7800GT (ordered seperately), 2 gigs of ram and other such things for about the price i'm looking for. Can anyone recommend something better? Is there a better base system from which I could order a better CPU and graphics card for the same price? Thanks. | 6418 (9711) | ||

| 425413 | 2006-01-31 09:42:00 | I'm getting one put together at the moment and I would agree that $3000 is nearer the mark for what your after. Mine has; AMD 64 3800+ dual processor 2Gb RAM 256Mb graphics card (7800GT) 200Gb HD DVD dual layer rewriter 19" LCD Raidmax Ninja case (520 watt p/s) Windows XP Home and it is costing about $2950 - wife said I had to keep it under 3, I guess that's why I bought myself a wireless keyboard last year and hid it away, and am now buying a separate DVD ROM drive as an add-on!!!!
