Soundblaster live
40gb hdd
gf 6600GT @ 550mhz core & 1ghz ram

My pc randomly locks up for about 10 seconds, ill try explain.

Playing a game or listening to music whilst using limewire, my pc stops responding and makes a loud looping noise...sortof like a machinegun fire for a few seconds. then it goes back to normal just fine. im wondering if its a heat problem. just arose about 3 months back when i got my sound card.

any ideas? its like......EAREAREAREAREAREAREAREAREAREAR

425696 2006-01-31 08:37:00 1 GHz RAM? Do you have any idea where does the "looping sound" occur in your computer?

Cheers :)

425698 2006-01-31 17:17:00 cpu is being overclocked....2500-3200 (1.8-2.2)Then return it back to standard settings. If your computer is not stable, then that should be the first obvious thing to try. :) Jen (38)

Check your CDROM drive isn't running in PIO mode by examining the properties of the IDE channel it is connected to in Device Manager.
