| 426251 | 2006-02-02 06:30:00 | Having my router only forward a couple of ports has been working well for me so far. No nasty hackers have got into my system as far as I can tell, and I often leave it on overnight. | Greven (91) | ||

| 426253 | 2006-02-02 10:53:00 | Also AMD CPU's tend to run cooler than Intel errr.............traditionally this is very innacurate.......not too sure about the socket 939 as opposed to the socket 754 but the old socket 462 (socket A) as opposed to intel cpus, (before and excluding the prescott), certainly ran hotter as a general rule...... Oh cripes! You went fishing today and they all got away, right! Ok, it's rancid, but I'm peckish. Thunderbirds were hot, IIRC the 12 & 1400's were up there with the best BBQ's money could buy, that's about it though (leaving Celerys & Durons aside). It's not so much that (initially) AMD cooled there gear down significantly but, that Intel caught up and surpassed AMD in the How To Make The Hottest Power Guzzling Chip Race, and they're still way better at it despite being ahead in the shrinking of the silicon. They might be closer some time this year. Hoik! :D |
