| 426080 | 2006-02-01 08:36:00 | Hi Team Took the plunge and bought my first colour laser. I chose the Epson AcuLaser 1100N on price and suitability for my needs, guided by Bruce's review in the July 2005 PCW. It all seems to work OK except for one critical fault, it only prints black down the third quarter of the page. The left-hand side is blank, as is the extreme right. Red green and blue all print across the full width. So, to me, that points to a cartridge problem, maybe compacted toner, though I followed the recommended "shake the cartridge" process before installing. I'd like to take it out and shake it again, but the damned thing always comes to rest on the cyan cartridge and there is nothing in the help files to tell me how to jog it around to the black. Epson seem to assume that you will only remove cartridges when replacing them all! There's an 0800 number in the phone book, but I'm impatient to play with the new toy so I'm hoping somebody here can help. :D. Has anybody any experience with this printer? Cheers Billy 8-{) |

That was a surprisingly good experience, and wonder of wonders they provide 12 months on-site service for warranty issues. On top of that, anything that can't be fixed easily within 14 days of purchase is treated as a DoA and the printer is replaced. I'd rather I didn't have the problem at all, but the quality of service is very encouraging. Cheers Billy 8-{) |
