426467 2006-02-03 00:35:00 I use AVG free edition and ZoneAlarm and when I checked my emails today I found one sent from ZoneAlarm last night about a virus called BlackWorm (MyWife.d). It is basically an upgrade offer to ZoneAlarm Antivirus
Untick all references to getting updates, email notifications etc in Zone Alarms preferences. Never register anything if possible.
Never tick the YES I want to be spammed box.

Sound advice . That's what I do .

I heard about this Feb 3 worm attack various places and also got that mssg from ZA . Does seem a bit of a change for them, maybe they're off on a more aggressive marketing policy . :dogeye:

As for the attack, it does require "user participation" which means you have to be dopey enough to open an atachment from a stranger .
And if they have spoofed the addys, scan it first . :badpc:

I use www . theregister . co . uk for IT news & views and alerts . And hoaxes . And media whip-ups, and got some larfs too . HTH, M . ;)
