| 427453 | 2006-02-05 19:48:00 | I was cleaning up my computer last night and I accidentally deleted a something from my registry that the program considered "not fully safe to delete." After restarting my computer, it would not fully start-up and now continuously restarts itself. Today, it is tending to freeze up, so I am forced to restart it...over and over again. I have even tried to reformat it, but it isn't able to boot from the CD-ROM either. Is there a way to replace this registry value in the computer ,or even a way to successfully reformat my computer so I can use it again??? Thanks. | Zeta3K (9756) | ||
| 427454 | 2006-02-05 19:54:00 | Umm, what exactly did you delete? What was the entry / command you deleted? And what version of Windows is/was installed? You usually do a clean install by changing the bootdisk in the BIOS to the cd, then put the cd in and boot from it. To install Windows. If u have Windows 98 / 2000 / ME / XP, try booting into safe mode. Can u boot into safe mode? |

| 427455 | 2006-02-05 20:18:00 | Just one other thing I'll add to speedy's list Did you change the boot order in the bios so that cd rom was first ? and what is the os reason I ask is , if its an earlier os such as 98 (me and xp use system restore) which keeps by default the last 5 ( I think thats the default) copies of the registry. if so we maybe able to help you restore your registry to before the edit. |
