427734 2006-02-06 14:23:00 Hi,

I recently installed a BFG Nvidia 6600GT-OC AGP graphics card.

However, ive notived that when im playing the game I got it for, Battlefield 2, I usually only get around 5-15 mins online play before the PC crashes and goes to a blue screen and begins to "dump physical memory". It then states that if this is the first time it has happend, i should restart, but if it is not, I should uninstall recently installed progs or hardware.

Could this be overheating in my GFX card? I say this because it never happens when im not playing the game and just on the net. Is there any way of checking for sure that my GFX card is overheating?

And if it is getting too hot, what steps do i need to take to remedy the situation?

Thanks

As for your problem, right click on the desktop, properties, settings, advanced, 6600GT tab and there should be a temperature settings tab indicating the temperature, what is this idle?

What is this 5, then 10 mins into the game (if you get that far)(by alt-tabbing) though I doubt it, mine you can see below and it goes up to mid 80s full load.

Make sure the fan connecter is pluged into the socket.

I doubt it is the card unless the fan is not pluged in or something because they are designed to run with the HSF they come with

427737 2006-02-06 18:23:00 What are your system specs? Memory dumps may be pointing to faulty or insufficent RAM. It is known that BF2 is a RAM hog... some go as far as to say that 2GB is what you need. It can run on less though.

I suggest you try different memory modules or increase the memory (if you can borrow some off a mate just for the test) I would also run memtest to make sure the RAM isn't faulty.

He is referring to the properties for your graphics card... which can be found in Display Settings in the Control Panel.

You can find the MemTest Download HERE (www.memtest86.com) Make sure you choose the correct one.

Mem test is a program, google it and download it.
