428190 2006-02-08 03:25:00 Ok, I just got your post about the trojan remover, so I'll try that now. Does it matter which one I use?

Nope, theyre the same file, just from different servers.

428192 2006-02-08 03:33:00 Still no luck. It said no active malware was found on the computer. ZonerDude (9419)

428194 2006-02-08 03:54:00 Do you have any extra firewall protection which might have stopped access outside of network.
On ipconfig /a, did it show the router as default gateway, and your ip address in same range, have you tried ipconfig /release then reboot?

428195 2006-02-08 04:00:00 The problem is most likely to be a simple setting. It can't find the default gateway. That probably means that the setting on that machine has been clouted, or that the gateway (your ADSL router) has had its IP address changed somehow. The router is Ok because the other machine is working. So its that one machine.

That "1.0.0.0" might be the culprit. That is a broadcast address, for a start, and I suspect the 1.0.0 network would be one you would never, ever, be accessing.

Reinstalling the ADSL software which you got with the ADSL equipment (on that machine only) should give you the correct settings (as a by product) if noone comes in with the exact settings to make and where. :D

428196 2006-02-08 04:09:00 Ok so I did those settings 3-7 in Trojan Remover and something did change. When I rebooted the computer, it detected the DLink Internet Gateway Device, which is the first time it's done that. So now I can access the shared documents between the two computers. It still isn't accessing the internet, and it still has that "1.0.0.0" coming up, but I think I'm heading in the right direction. So now I'll try the ipconfig. Am hoping a solution is found real soon, so thanks for all the ideas guys(and/or girls). ZonerDude (9419)
428197 2006-02-08 04:29:00 Umm so which PC is the main PC ?

The one that isnt working, or the one that can get on the net?

It sounds like the working one is the main PC .

If its the one that can get on the net, and its got Zonealarm on it, like the non working one, is ZA registered??

If ZA isnt registered (on the working PC), ICS wont be enabled (I think) . So, the one that cant get on the net now, wont get on the net . Till ZA is registered .

What told u it detected the gateway?? Zonealarm?

428198 2006-02-08 04:41:00 He's not using ICS. He has an ADSL router/wireless directly connected to a Pc which can't access the Internet. He has another computer with a wireless link to the ADSL/router, which can connect to the Internet. So I doubt if ZA is a problem. Graham L (2)
428199 2006-02-08 04:43:00 No, it was MSN Messenger Connection Troubleshooter. And the computer that's working is the secondary one connects to the router via a DLink Wireless USB Dongle. The one that isn't working is the main one. I've uninstalled Zonealarm on the main computer, the second computer didn't have Zonealarm. I did those changes with Trojan Remover, and also did the ipconfig /release. Now on the MSN Troubleshooter it makes it past the 'Default Gateway' error, and gets to 'Key Ports' error. Now if you know what the MSN Messenger Troubleshooter looks like, that's close to the end. So I'd say that progress is being made definitely. Still IE is the one that has me stumped because it still has that 'connecting to site 1.0.0.0'. ZonerDude (9419)
