427724 2006-02-07 07:21:00 My son's provider was Xtra, but he took my advice over time, saw the light, and eventually moved to Orcon where he sent me evidence of 2 Mbs performance.

I don’t know when your son sent you evidence of 2 Mbs performance, but one thing to keep in mine that Orcons broadband / BitStream has not been going too well over the last few months ( I think it has only just got better)( search here & the orcon forums to see what I mean)

427725 2006-02-07 08:31:00 The fastest speed you can get is with telstraclear and they have a light speed which is 200 times faster than xtra though i do understand not all of nz has telstras network but if you do then go to light speed one of the guys at work has it and he says it makes telecoms speed look like a snail which it is. technophobia (8565)

427731 2006-02-07 10:22:00 you are right it is expensive but im with i hug and im paying $60 a month for a 10gb plan for a 2mbps download speed so you are better of with telstra at 10mbps a second for a 10gb plan. technophobia (8565)
427732 2006-02-07 10:30:00 How do you get 2Mb/s when you can only get 200+ kb/s????2Mb/s is Two Megabits Per Second. That's what most (or many) of us get on our adsl plans. Greg (193)
