427488 2006-02-06 10:03:00 Hmm, perhaps I was a little premature in proclaiming success. It worked for a while and then decided to throw a hissyfit...
Now I'm back to the same problem.

Hmm I wonder if its any of the programs I've installed. Then again, theyre the same ones I've used before... hmm

A little doozy this one is.

427489 2006-02-06 10:23:00 OK now this bast**d is working again, I think I may have disabled some services that IE likes to use. Otherwise its the fact that I uninstalled Hamachi and removed several Hamachi entries from the registry.

/me bangs head on desk. "DAMN YOU TRICKSTER!!!!"

Now to see if Drive Image 5 will backup to DVD...

[edit]
then again, does windows update still work?

Firefox does work anyway on Bob_Doe_NZ system but for some reason IE does not. Unfortunately we have no idea what IE is doing as we have no input regarding error messages in spite af a question being asked.

From Speedy:-
So what probs are u having with IE?

Whats not working? It's not opening? IE itself, going to sites, or what?

Unless spyware or something has screwed it up. Post a hijackthis log here.

Knowing that the registry has been tampered with then this can cause problems too.

My guess is a winsock problem maybe but like 5 alive I need more input.

All I know was that there was NO error messages and that IE would not do anything, the animation icon on the top right of the IE window was moving but thats about it!

See above. Also HJT log showed nothing out of the ordinary

Only thing I can think of was Hamachi or a couple of services which may have been disabled. I do not think it had anything to do with Winsock problems.

Matters settled and its all working fine.
