428976 2006-02-11 21:14:00 Agree with that. I know someone who is stuck in limbo. No ISP is billing them and they haven't had a bill for almost a year now! They have full adsl download and upload speeds and have been downloading over 90GB every month!

Man - I so wish that was me.

428977 2006-02-11 21:43:00 This house has a 2000kbps/128kbps connection which is mainly used by 2 people. It is used everyday and is used for online gaming most days (BF2, PF, AoEIII, NFS:MW - not exactally small detail games) so alot of information is going accross the line, there is also the patches for those games, and any streaming trailers for movies and games we watch. We are on the 10gb xtra plan and have never gone over our limit. We have three people using our connection, and believe me, it takes a lot of control to make sure we don't exceed the 10GB cap each month. You only have to download the latest version of America's Army and almost 10% of the month's bandwidth has gone. Factor in a few HD movie trailers, a few demos and general usage, and our monthly transfer builds up pretty quickly.

If the tv channels don't stop advertising the way they do & broadband gets faster then i can see isp's supplying tv & goodbye tv1 ect. The winter olympics won't be worth watching cos of the ads/promos whatever they want to call/justify it asYou do realise that ads are what funds TV stations don't you? If they didn't have ads, you would have to pay an additional bill each month. Sure you can illegally download TV programs, but if ISPs start supplying television services they will also have ads or large monthly bills. I'm not opposed to ads, what I am opposed to is the lack of HDTV in New Zealand despite the income they earn from the ads they show.

428978 2006-02-11 23:47:00 All the people I know who have 2 or more people on one connection that play BF2 chew through their cap in no time.

I don't mind ads on TV to a certain extent. When the ad breaks are almost as long as the time between breaks, that is getting rediculous

428979 2006-02-11 23:58:00 And you could say that, however insulting to your intelligence the advertisments are, the programmes are far, far, worse. Graham L (2)
428980 2006-02-12 03:28:00 for somereason my isp is having problems with their usage metre again, to the point theat they dont even knwo how much ive used, let alone me being able to find out. so ive taken advantage of this oppurtunity and ive done abuot 60gig within abuot 3 weeks.
all of the stuff ive downloaded is stuff ive wanted and would have slowly downloaded with my 10gig cap over the next half year.
seeing as ive had 10gig cap since mid 2002 its refreshing to be able to download as much as possible.
im playing with fire though since i get charged $10 a gig.
late last year i used to get charged $200 per gig. they made us switch plans last time they ****ed up because we coudlnt check usage. but im happy.
i know it will come to an end soon but while it lasts ill get up to date will all my iptv shows, anime ect.

428982 2006-02-12 05:06:00 Well finally my 12 month prison term... ah, I mean contract with Telescum, ah I mean, Telecon... I hate these things... Telecom is up, so I can finally change ISP's without having to hand over $100... but I'm not too sure who I should go with... I'm scared to make a bad choice again... I hug seem pretty good, and I've heard good things about Orcon.. I'll mainly use the connection for playing Counter Strike and Day of Defeat and some downloading... do you guys have any suggestions for whom I should choose? bizzack (7739)
428983 2006-02-12 13:01:00 I watch alot of Hong kong Tv Dramas so i will be downloading roughly around 300 to 600MB a day.

The 40GB fits nicely with the ihug plans.

The two girls at our flat will also be using the line as well as one other mate of mine.

The girls only use msn and email while my friend uses DC++ alot.

Hope he controls his download!

What about SKY TV?, They play A LOT of ads, and their monthly billing price is anything but cheap or reasonable for that matter.

428985 2006-02-12 23:13:00 I see the DVD hd player recorder has a nice feature, press a button and it skips 30sec,which is repeatable. Cicero (40)
