428292 2006-02-09 11:42:00  I second the applause on securing your wireless network. Now apart from some VERY smart people, your average child porn browsing, illegal software downloading person wont be able to come through a 128bit WEP protected wireless network.

Your problem could be very much closer to home than you think, and I'm hoping that since you are wise enough to secure your network, you are also wise enough to protect your computer from other malicious things too. I am of course talking of virusses, spyware, trackware, greyware, adware etc etc etc, the list goes on. A piece of such software might be running as a process or service, and sending out information about your computer or what you do with it, to a remote location. And hence the rise in your bandwidth (also noting what Haze said is very true) usage.

What I suggest is installing anit-virus and anti-spyware software (if you have not already done so) and keeping them up to date and scanning your drives regularly. Also check your "msconfig" for anything that is in your startup that you dont recognise or that you KNOW should'nt be there. After which you regular statup folder (Start > Programs > Startup) should also be checked for items that dont belong.

Just a different angle I thought of, check it out :) Hope it helps
