428508 2006-02-09 05:47:00 Hey guys thanks very much for all your help. I think I may have found the answer in an old pressf1 thread saying that the 2600+ has a 266mhz FSB but only on a few of them.

Here's the info from Everest on the motherboard:
Motherboard Properties:
Motherboard ID <DMI>
Motherboard Name Compaq Presario

Front Side Bus Properties:
Bus Type DEC Alpha EV6
Bus Width 64-bit
Real Clock 133 MHz (DDR)
Effective Clock 267 MHz
Bandwidth 2133 MB/s

Chipset Bus Properties:
Bus Type HyperTransport v1.0
Bus Width 8-bit

I realise the stuff here isn't very helpful but if anyone manages to find some more info regarding the biggest CPU supported then please post it.
:)

428509 2006-02-09 08:19:00 try Sisoft Sandra. Give the motherboard and chipset details, as has been mentioned, if your chipset doesn't support faster clocks or the newer CPU cores, such a CPU will be meaningless on your PC. Murray P (44)
