I think I may have found the answer in an old pressf1 thread saying that the 2600+ has a 266mhz FSB but only on a few of them. Here's the info from Everest on the motherboard: Motherboard Properties: Motherboard ID <DMI> Motherboard Name Compaq Presario Front Side Bus Properties: Bus Type DEC Alpha EV6 Bus Width 64-bit Real Clock 133 MHz (DDR) Effective Clock 267 MHz Bandwidth 2133 MB/s Chipset Bus Properties: Bus Type HyperTransport v1.0 Bus Width 8-bit I realise the stuff here isn't very helpful but if anyone manages to find some more info regarding the biggest CPU supported then please post it. :) |

| 428509 | 2006-02-09 08:19:00 | try Sisoft Sandra. Give the motherboard and chipset details, as has been mentioned, if your chipset doesn't support faster clocks or the newer CPU cores, such a CPU will be meaningless on your PC. | Murray P (44) | ||
