428643 2006-02-09 03:10:00 I used to be able to click on an Outlook 2003 attachment and it would quickly open in PhotoImpact 10 or whatever way it was sent. Now, it will only open in PhotoExplorer which means a complicated switch to a different folder for each and every attachment.

How do I get back to where I was? I can't find anything on Outlook which allows me to specify how attachments are received.

Any help much appreciated.

428644 2006-02-09 03:16:00 save an attachement ot the desktop or whereever then go to it and right clik it......on the menu use the 'open with' item.......goto ......choose program.....then in the box you get find the program you want.....if it's not listed use the browse button.......then clik it one time then put a tick in the 'alwayss use this program......' box then clik ok.......it'll now automatically open using the program you have chosen drcspy (146)
428645 2006-02-09 03:19:00 As far as I understand it, Outlook will open attachments according to which application you have assigned to a particular file type.

I guess it is possible that somehow your preferred application for this sort of file has got changed.

Right click on a file that is of concern to you, and go to Properties. You will see "Opens with..." and then the application assigned to that file type. There is a Change button where you can change the application.

Hope that is the solution!
