429254 2006-02-11 07:44:00 Hi All..............Sygate Firewall is no more. It is not being "Serviced" anymore now it has been acquired by Symantec.
Is there any point in using it anymore? Or should I change to something else? ZA is NOT an option. Thanks PJ

429255 2006-02-11 07:51:00 Nothing wrong with Kerio
www.sunbelt-software.com

It goes into "free mode" after 30 days but is still fine in that mode.

429256 2006-02-11 07:54:00 sygate will be fine. its not critical that there are updated, untill someone works out how to get around it.

outpost isn't to bad, its got some good features.

429258 2006-02-11 07:56:00 ps. to above... Is there any point in continuing with Sygate? PJ Poppa John (284)
429259 2006-02-11 07:58:00 you can keep useing sygate for a fair while yet. some people here are still useing the old tiny firewall. tweak'e (69)
429260 2006-02-11 07:58:00 I will continue to use it on three computers. I see no reason to change.

429261 2006-02-11 08:38:00 I just tried Kerio & it doesn't like me. (Ok I'm thick). I went into 'Configuration' & green ticked everything. It would not let anything thro. Maybe I had better stick to defunct Sygate. PJ Poppa John (284)
429262 2006-02-11 09:03:00 I use Sygate for application control only. For my security needs I use IPCop Firewall on an old box. Haze (3028)
